Denmark confirms aid avoids sanctioned entities

The Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs declared that support given to Palestinian areas has not reached those on EU and UN sanctions lists. Denmark’s country program for Palestine was reviewed to ensure compliance. The ministry will now add an anti-terrorism clause to the agreements with the Danish House in Palestine (DHIP) in Ramallah, referencing EU sanctions. Denmark’s country program will run until 2026, with a focus on West Bank initiatives. A total of 450 million kroner is allocated for Palestinian aid from 2021-2025. Support, which is given to civil organizations in Gaza and the West Bank, had been paused following an attack by Hamas but later resumed under stringent conditions to ensure funds do not support aggression against Israel. Notably, Hamas and Islamic Jihad are on the EU’s sanction list.
