Danish government to boost entrepreneurship
The Danish government aims to make Denmark a world-class entrepreneurial nation with a new strategy presented by Minister for Industry, Business, and Financial Affairs Morten Bødskov and colleagues. They plan to invest 2.1 billion DKK from 2024-2026 and 1.1 billion DKK annually from 2027 to improve conditions for entrepreneurs. This includes reducing bureaucratic burdens, improving access to capital, and tax reductions totaling over 750 million DKK yearly from 2027. The government proposes to eliminate the ‘entrepreneur tax’ on dividends from non-listed shares and the so-called ‘phantom tax’ on expected future business earnings. Additionally, 400 million DKK is allocated for targeted venture capital for startups, and entrepreneurs will also have expanded unemployment benefits and development assistance. The measures are anticipated to increase the labor supply by 290 people and have received positive reactions from the business community.
