Ex-Tax minister to lead Danish lawyers

Karsten Lauritzen, former Tax Minister and Parliament member for the Venstre political party, will take over as the CEO of the trade organization Danske Advokater. The announcement comes from the organization’s press release. He will assume his new role on February 1st, 2025, succeeding Paul Mollerup, who is leaving to become a partner at Bridge Consulting. Jesper Rothe, the chairman of Danske Advokater, emphasized the importance of finding someone with strong influence and political insight. Lauritzen expressed eagerness to address new challenges, highlighting the central role of lawyers in safeguarding legal rights for citizens and businesses. Danske Advokater represents over three-quarters of Danish lawyers and legal trainees working in law firms.
