Denmark seeks EU terror listing for Iran’s Revolutionary Guard
The Danish government is pushing for the inclusion of Iran’s Revolutionary Guard on the EU’s terror list, according to Foreign Minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen. This statement follows the EU’s political agreement on sanctions targeting Iran’s drone and missile production and exports. The EU’s stance marks the most significant move against Iran after its attacks involving around 300 drones and missiles. Rasmussen emphasized the necessity for a consensus among EU members and a legal foundation before the Guard can be added to the list, which requires a European court judgment. The list can lead to frozen accounts and facilitates collaborative investigation and data exchange among EU countries.
