Danish MPs secure key EU parliament positions

Christel Schaldemose (S) is set to become one of the social democratic vice-chairs in the EU Parliament, as her group expects to fill five vice-presidential roles. The power struggle in the EU Parliament continues, with the recent elections bringing 720 new politicians who seek influence in the upcoming years. Among them, Kira Marie Peter-Hansen (SF) is nominated for vice-chair of the Greens, and Anders Vistisen will potentially serve as chief whip for the Patriots for Europe group, ready to coordinate their political agenda. Committees are the focus of attention as they shape legislation, and politicians are negotiating for significant committee placements. The finalization of committee assignments is due by mid-July, enabling the 15 Danish MEPs to officially begin their work after the elections held on June 9.
