24-year-old released after fatal accident

A 24-year-old man was released by the Hillerød Court after a fatal accident on the motorway extension that claimed three lives. Judge Lene Faursby Ahlers stated there wasn’t enough suspicion based on objective evidence from investigations, including speed measurements using GPS data. During the ruling, disruptions occurred as two individuals were expelled. The prosecutor’s request to extend detention was rejected, allowing the young man to leave. The crash involved an alleged race resulting in the death of a 33-year-old and a couple in another car, while their children survived. The defendant’s lawyer contested the reckless driving charge, citing a speed of 125 km/h where 110 is allowed. The judge favored measurable data over witness accounts, with the prosecutor contemplating an appeal.
