Danish defense boost cheers Finland

Denmark, historically less attentive to its defense, has increased its defense spending in light of the war on the European continent and elevated threats from Russia, a move that Finland views positively, Danish ambassador Jakob Nymann-Lindegren states. The Danish government and parties behind the defense agreement have recently presented a deal allocating an additional 120 billion kroner to the Danish defense until 2033, supplementing the already earmarked 200 billion kroner. The Danish royal couple’s state visit to Finland underscores the close cooperation between the two nations on defense, global challenges, UN, EU, Nordic partnership, and NATO alliance, especially since Finland joined NATO in April 2023. The visit will include a defense cooperation declaration signing by both countries’ defense ministers.
