PM at donor meeting: Ukraine war is top priority
Europe’s top priority is the war in Ukraine, and to expedite support, a collaboration on ammunition with Czech Republic, Netherlands, and Denmark is set. Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen, co-hosting a meeting in Prague, emphasized the dire situation in Ukraine, asserting the urgent need for more assistance. Key topics include ammunition, air defense, and support for the Ukrainian defense industry. Russia has recently launched an offensive in Kharkiv. With the majority of the EU’s defense equipment purchased from outside Europe since the invasion, the Danish government urges the establishment of a European defense industry. Defense ministers from EU countries are also meeting to discuss support for Ukraine, while Denmark’s defense minister will encourage investments in Ukraine’s arms industry. By producing its own military equipment, Ukraine could more swiftly supply weapons to the front line.
