Tesla’s Danish Sales Surge by 400% in a Year

Tesla’s decision to lower prices on several models has resonated well with Danish consumers, leading to a substantial boost in the company’s Denmark sales figures. In 2023, Tesla’s revenue in Denmark increased by more than 400% to DKK 8.1 billion, up from DKK 1.6 billion the previous year, reports Børsen. This growth is attributed to favorable market conditions, increased brand awareness, and the impact of price reductions throughout the year. The increase in revenue also improved the bottom line, which rose from DKK 19 million in 2022 to DKK 94 million in 2023. Tesla delivered 22,512 cars in Denmark last year, with over 18,000 being the Model Y, which saw major price cuts. Despite this local success, Denmark’s revenue is only a small part of Tesla’s overall business, which made $96.8 billion globally in 2023, marking a 19% increase from 2022. However, after significant price reductions, Tesla’s operating profit decreased by 35% to $8.9 billion.
