Minister convenes meeting on Borup case

Education Minister Mattias Tesfaye will meet with the Danish Parliament’s Children and Education Committee to discuss the Borup School case involving inappropriate behavior. The meeting is scheduled for next Thursday at 10:15 am, with the Borup case as the first agenda item. Tesfaye intends to reach out to municipalities across the country to determine if the troubling conduct at Borup School is an isolated incident or indicative of a wider trend. This follows after reports of similar issues in schools nationwide. Parents have criticized the school leadership and local government for not sufficiently addressing their complaints. Some parents have written to national politicians questioning the management of the case. Køge Municipality school chief Lars Nedergaard acknowledged the need for better communication and said they are in dialogue with affected parents. More initiatives from the municipality are expected post-winter break, informs Vice Mayor Ken Kristensen.
