Police probe potential labor abuse in asbestos case
The Police of South and Southern Jutland are investigating an incident where children aged 12-16 illegally worked with asbestos during a demolition in Sønderborg Kommune. The police are considering charges of human exploitation, as the children may have been recruited under grossly unreasonable terms. A previous inspection in mid-September by Arbejdstilsynet resulted in 14 immediate injunctions to stop the dangerous and illegal work. None have been charged yet, despite lawyer Erbil Kaya’s claim that LM Multiservices faced charges. The company owners, recently in the construction business, state their unawareness of asbestos and the minors’ ages until the inspection.
