Man had restraining order before ex-wife’s murder

A 61-year-old man is charged with fatally shooting his ex-wife in Brønshøj and is to be detained for four weeks, as decided by a judge at the Frederiksberg Court. The man is to be seen by a doctor to determine if he should be held in a regular jail or a psychiatric ward. He denies the murder charge, claiming he shot someone other than his wife, though he admits to possessing the pistol. Reports indicate he had been threatening and mentally unstable, with previous psychiatric admissions. Eight minutes after the incident, he turned himself in to police, appearing incoherent and confused. He claimed to have shot at “a devil with horns on its forehead” rather than his wife. Both he and the victim are protected by an anonymity order.
