Belgian convicted of assaulting 14-year-old soccer fan

A 14-year-old football fan was attacked by a now four years older Belgian on 3 August close to soccer stadium Ceres Park in Aarhus. As part of the incident, which happened during a match between AGF and Club Brugge, the boy had his shirt stolen. On Thursday, the 18-year-old Belgian was convicted of violence and sentenced to five months unconditional imprisonment by the Court in Aarhus, the East Jutland Police said in a press release. The court has chosen not to convict the man of robbery, but instead unlawful coercion. The Belgian has also been expelled from Denmark with an entry ban for six years. He must remain in custody until he can serve his sentence. The 18-year-old accepted the sentence but appealed the decision to remain in custody. /ritzau/
