Vestager should not fight state aid with state aid: EU Competition Commissioner Margrethe Vestager has approved that the German state may subsidise a new battery factory with a staggering seven billion kroner. Otherwise, the EU has a ban on state aid, which has been consistently enforced in the past. State aid distorts and destroys free and fair competition, destroys the EU’s internal market and hampers innovation and wealth creation.
