Boom in Air Traffic Controller training applications
A conflict-ridden spring and a stressful summer for Copenhagen Airport seem to have been “a fine recruitment campaign” for air traffic controller training, according to Louise Groot Degner, head of Naviair’s support units in Berlingske. Normally, the state-owned company receives around 300 applications, but this year a record number have applied. Naviair has received 550 applications. Naviair is owned by the Danish state and is responsible for guiding aircraft safely in and out of Danish airspace. During the spring and summer, a conflict between Naviair and air traffic controllers erupted. This was due to the fact that there had not been enough air traffic controllers to cover the shifts. /ritzau/
