In an attempt to clean up the London police force, around 1,000 officers have been suspended or are working under increased supervision, the Metropolitan Police said on Tuesday, according to The Guardian. The clean-up follows a number of serious cases that have come to light. “This is not something we can solve alone, and it’s not something we can solve in a month or six. It will take one, two or more years to remove those who corrupt the police,” Deputy Chief Constable Stuart Cundy told the Guardian. In the spring, a review of the police force concluded there was racism, misogyny and homophobia in the metropolitan force. /ritzau/
