Five Bulgarians have been accused by Britain of spying for Russia, with the indictment stating they have been trying to gather information that could be useful to an enemy. The allegation is that the five had operated in a period from August 2020 to February this year. The five accused are three men and two women, between the ages of 29 and 45 and are residents of Britain. Two of the accused were previously charged with possession of false identity documents, the prosecutor’s office said. The five were all arrested in February by a London police counter-terrorism unit. They are due to appear in court in London on Tuesday next week. /ritzau/
