British pro-EU supporters in London staged a demonstration at the weekend calling Brexit “a big mistake” and calling for Britain to rejoin the European Union. The protesters represent a majority of the population, according to several opinion polls conducted in the years after Brexit. A series of opinion polls published this month show that a majority of between 55 and 61 per cent want EU membership, according to the independent National Centre for Social Research in Britain. Polls conducted by Kantar and Deltapoll show that 55 per cent of voters are against Brexit today, while 45 per cent are in favour. Polls conducted by Omnisis show that 61 percent want a new EU membership, while 39 percent are against. /ritzau/dpa/
