29-Year-Old Held for 6-Year-Old Murder Case
A 29-year-old man was arrested on Saturday at Copenhagen Airport for a murder that occurred in Rødovre in 2018 and has now been remanded into custody until March 5. The judge found reasonable suspicion after a hearing that lasted just over an hour. He is charged with murder following a fight at a garage on March 5, 2018, where a 33-year-old man was fatally stabbed in the head with what is believed to have been a screwdriver. The victim died two days later. Although denying guilt and refusing to testify in the hearing, the Turkish national voluntarily returned to Denmark after previously fleeing the country. Four others were convicted of aggravated assault in May 2019, and at that time, evidence pointed to the now-arrested man as the assailant, but he couldn’t be sentenced due to his absence. The prosecution expects to raise charges promptly, as the investigation is essentially complete.
