Danish Fashion Brand Wood Wood Bankrupt
The Danish clothing brand Wood Wood was declared bankrupt on Monday, says to the CEO of its parent company Carrington, Mads Lunøe, to TV 2 Kosmopol. The bankruptcy petition was filed with the Maritime and Commercial Court. The brand hopes to continue the business in some form. Henrik Selchau Poulsen of law firm Bruun & Hjejle, the appointed curator, states there is already interest from potential buyers and a structured process will commence to discuss possible deals, maintaining partial operation including a planned stock sale later in the week. After inquiring within the industry, optimism remains for finding a buyer to take over. Wood Wood, after more than 20 years in the Danish fashion scene, reduced their retail footprint by closing stores, including one in London’s Soho and in Berlin, following a loss of 32 million kroner in 2022.
