Empty right lanes & no turn signals anger drivers
A study for the Danish Road Directorate by Verian Institute reveals that the biggest frustrations for Danish drivers are fellow motorists not keeping to the right or maintaining distance. The study asked 1,274 drivers who travel more than 3,000 kilometers annually about their top irritations. Nearly half are annoyed by drivers not staying right when possible, potentially attracting fines. Vejdirektoratet warns this behavior could lead to dangerous situations like risky overtaking. Marianne Foldberg Steffensen from the Directorate emphasizes that staying right can alleviate traffic and create more road space. Neglecting to use turn signals equally irritates nearly a third of respondents. The Directorate is campaigning to encourage proper lane discipline among drivers.
