Electric cars to outsell gasoline vehicles by 2024
In 2024, electric vehicles (EVs) are expected to outsell gasoline and diesel cars for the first time, with over 70% of next year’s car sales in Denmark being EVs, as forecasted by Mobility Denmark. Contributing factors include favorable electric car taxes and evolving EV models with more within popular price ranges. Currently, 61% of Denmark’s 2024 car sales up to November are electric, totaling 132,600 EVs. Taxminister Rasmus Stoklund presumes this trend will continue through December. While EV sales soar, 12% of the national car stock is electric, against 84% conventional cars. The ministry aims to make EVs more attractive via future tax adjustments.
