DK invests 1.3 billion for youth employment

A broad political majority in Denmark has agreed to allocate over 1.3 billion kroner by 2035 to help more young people find jobs or education. The SVM government, together with SF, the Conservatives, and the Radicals, are supporting the agreement focusing on youth with mental or social challenges. Employment Minister Ane Halsboe-Jørgensen emphasized the need to bridge psychiatry and the labor market for this group. The Workers’ Economic Council reported that 42,800 people aged 15-24 were jobless or out of education in September the previous year, corresponding to 6.3% of the age group. The national partnership ‘Ungeløftet’ aims to engage societal players in integrating more young people into the workforce by 2025. Dansk Industri is optimistic about the initiative, emphasizing the value for both companies and vulnerable youths.
