US tips off PET on Danish teen’s gun interest

In collaboration with US Homeland Security, Danish Intelligence (PET) led to the arrest of two Danish teens attempting to buy a pistol. The arrest occurred during a staged deal by law enforcement when the teens were buying a Glock G26. The interest began when one teen found a weapon ad in a Telegram chat and decided to purchase it for resale on Christiania to finance his driving license, costing him 15,300 kroner. Both Homeland Security and PET were behind the online weapon offers, unbeknownst to the teens. The court is assessing if PET encouraged the crime. Both teens, friends from Ishøj, deny prior knowledge of the deal until the day of the arrest. PET agents will testify privately, with the trial expected to end Friday.
