Danish restaurants sweep Michelin, lead Nordic neighbors

Denmark shone at the Nordic Michelin awards, securing a total of 52 stars across 38 restaurants, doubling its tally in nine years and confirming its status as a “gastronomic superpower,” according to the industry organization Horesta. Denmark is the spotlight of this year’s Michelin Guide, with six of its restaurants among the ten new one-star additions. The Nordic region now has 75 restaurants each with one Michelin star. Additionally, Denmark retains three-star status for Noma, Jordnær, and Geranium. New Bib Gourmand recognitions, for good food at reasonable prices, included seven Danish restaurants. Following this year’s awards, Finland has ten stars across nine restaurants, Iceland holds three stars across three, Norway boasts 27 stars across 22 restaurants, and Sweden has 25 Michelin restaurants with a total of 32 stars.
