Danish terror threat increased after Gaza conflict
The Danish Security and Intelligence Service (PET) has heightened the terror threat level in Denmark, citing the Israel-Hamas conflict and perceived insults to Islam as key reasons. The threat level remains at four out of five, suggesting significant risk without immediate intent to carry out an attack. Michael Hamann, head of PET’s Center for Terror Analysis, points out the radicalization potential due to the conflict and offenses like Quran desecration. While engaging in the conflict legally is valid, these issues have made Denmark a priority target for militant groups, says PET. Previously, a connection between planning a terror attack and groups like Hamas and Loyal To Familia (LTF) was noted, leading to arrests last December.
