Threat level raised for destructive cyber attacks

Denmark’s Defense Minister Troels Lund Poulsen and CFCS head Thomas Flarup have announced an increase in the threat level for destructive cyber attacks from low to medium. The elevated threat follows reports of intensified hybrid warfare and reflects Russia’s willingness to challenge NATO countries, including Denmark. Russia is likely to target a wide range of critical sectors, which may not directly affect citizens but could disrupt critical infrastructure such as energy and communication. The threat level for cyber activism was previously raised to high due to the activity of pro-Russian hacker groups. Denmark is currently at the ‘medium’ threat level, but changes can occur rapidly. Authorities are working on communicating appropriate civil defense guidance to the public.
