Party leader dismisses government crisis

Despite complications in achieving a majority due to Mads Fuglede’s departure to the Danish Democrats, Venstre’s chairman Troels Lund Poulsen doesn’t see the government’s life as threatened. Post Fuglede’s switch, Poulsen received an email notification mid-flight and addressed the loss upon landing in Germany, expressing regret and appreciation for Fuglede’s contributions. Poulsen acknowledges differing opinions on the CO2 tax on agriculture within the party but believed in support for the government’s position. Following the shift, the government holds 86 seats, while the opposition has 87 seats, with one extra vote from independent Jon Stephensen. Poulsen avoided commenting on potential dealings with another independent, Mike Fonseca, emphasizing the government’s stability and ongoing coalition arrangements.
