Denmark Out of Eurovision Semi-Final

Denmark’s Eurovision entry Saba failed to secure enough votes with the song ‘Sand’ during the second semi-final hosted at Malmö Arena. The event is under scrutiny due to Israeli participant Eden Golan, who received enough votes despite controversy surrounding Israel’s recent military actions. Austrian contestant Kaleen, with Danish songwriters credited on ‘We Will Rave’, also progresses to the final. A standout performance included Malta’s Sarah Bonnici with ‘Loop’, featuring elaborate pyrotechnics. The tournament described as eccentric had varied acts, contrasting with Saba’s more subdued performance. After four years with no finals, Danish broadcaster DR’s new strategy did not yield a final spot. Notable finalists include Croatia’s Baby Lasagna and Cypern, featuring Danish dancers. The ‘Big Five’ and last year’s winner Sweden have guaranteed final slots. The grand final will be broadcast by DR.
