Call for bankruptcy ban on Lauritz.com’s management
Curators are seeking a three-year bankruptcy disqualification for former Lauritz.com executives, including chairman Bengt Sundstrøm and CEO Mette Sundstrøm, for alleged gross mismanagement. The court has permitted proceedings following curators’ recommendations on May 10. Accusations include the misuse of Lauritz.com funds for the personal benefit of the Sundstrøm couple, such as expenses for their private properties like a Swedish estate and a French vineyard. The mismanagement resulted in increased creditor losses. Additionally, the curators allege Lindgaard and Bøtkjær were aware of the commingled finances. Furthermore, Lauritz.com’s extension of payment deadlines before bankruptcy violated consumer protection laws, according to the Consumer Ombudsman.
