Car sales up
For the first time since 2019, car sales have increased, according to 2023 figures from the Danish Car Importer trade association (De Danske Bilimporterer) on Tuesday. Last year, 172,764 new cars were registered, up 17 percent from the previous year. “At the turn of the year last year, we were unsure of what to expect. But car sales have been at a high level throughout the year, and we have therefore ended up in a good place,” says Mads Rørvig, CEO of the organization. The market for electric cars in particular gained large market shares during the year, where it ended up accounting for just over 36 percent of total sales. /ritzau/
