Carlsberg ends licence deal with Russian subsidiary

Carlsberg is now hitting back against the Russian regime and President Putin after the brewery group lost control of its Russian subsidiary Baltika Breweries this summer. The company has informed Baltika management that the licence agreement, which enables Baltika to sell and produce Carlsberg beer, has been terminated with effect from April 1 next year, CEO Jacob Aarup Andersen says in a written comment to DR News. The licence agreements in question cover not only the Carlsberg brand, but also all other trademarks owned by the Group. /ritzau/
