Law firm proposes sanctions after email breach

The Kammeradvokat advises considering sanctions against employees who searched through lawmakers’ emails, following its investigation into the breach at the Danish Parliament’s Administration. The inquiry revealed violations of the penal code and human rights convention but found no grounds for criminal charges against senior officials, including chairman Søren Gade, as they were not aware of the searches. The probe also found non-compliance with GDPR Article 5. It’s unclear if there was a breach of personal data security requiring notification to the Data Protection Agency. Mitigating circumstances were identified, noting the searches were narrowly focused. Parliament members from the Danish People’s Party had been asked to delete an email, sparking concerns about Administrative oversight.
