Danish PM: Ukraine may use arms in Russia

Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen stated that arms donated by Denmark to Ukraine can be used to target Russian territory within international law. This clarification came after NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said that allies should reconsider bans on Ukraine using weapons to strike inside Russia. The topic, which divides Western allies, was discussed at an international meeting in Prague. Some nations demand their military aid be used only within Ukraine’s borders. EU’s foreign policy chief, Josep Borrell, indicated that self-defense attacks on military targets in Russia are lawful if proportional. France’s President Macron agreed with Denmark’s stance, emphasizing only military areas from which Ukraine is attacked should be neutralized. Russian President Putin has warned of serious consequences if Ukraine uses long-range western weapons on Russian soil.
