First Fehmarn tunnel section complete

The construction of the Fehmarn Belt link between Denmark and Germany has marked a major achievement with the completion of the first tunnel section from a total of 89. The concrete section is 217 meters long, weighs 73,500 tons, and took ten months to cast. The rest will be produced more quickly, with each section expected to take nine weeks. The project entails training hundreds of concrete workers to ensure efficient scaling of the process. The Fehmarn Belt connection, anticipated to be ready in 2029, will enable train travel times of seven minutes and car travel times of ten minutes between Lolland and Germany.
