IMF Upbeat on 2024 Global Economy

The IMF projects a slight uptick in global economic growth for 2024, estimating 3.2%. Tore Stramer from Dansk Erhverv views this as a substantial upward revision equivalent to 1.5 years of Denmark’s total economic output. The US economy is likely to see growth slowing from 2.7% in 2024 to 1.9% in 2025, while the eurozone, hit hard by the Ukraine conflict, is expected to grow by 0.8% in 2024 and 1.5% in 2025. Danish export businesses may face challenges due to modest growth in Europe, he says. The IMF’s five-year outlook suggests a 3.1% growth by 2029 but also warns of the lowest growth rate in decades for the upcoming five years.
