Denmark boosts aid on Ukraine invasion anniversary
Denmark has announced an additional contribution of 405 million Danish crowns to support Ukraine on the eve of the three-year anniversary of Russia’s invasion. This aid from the Ukraine Fund is divided into two packages: 205 million for humanitarian efforts targeting hard-to-reach and vulnerable areas, providing food, medicine, water, and shelter, and 200 million for reconstruction focused on urgent energy needs, rebuilding schools, improving water access, and mine clearance. Over half of the funds are earmarked for energy security, as 75% of Ukraine’s electricity production capacity has been destroyed due to Russian attacks. With this new package, Denmark’s total humanitarian aid to Ukraine surpasses one billion crowns. The overall Danish donation for military and civilian support since the onset of the war is estimated at around 59 billion crowns, including F-16 jets, Leopard tanks, and various defense missiles.
