Over 100 parents protest school behavior

Over a hundred parents with children at Agedrup School near Odense have voiced concerns, through a letter sent to authorities, about a series of troubling incidents at the school. Parents are disturbed by frequent inappropriate behavior that disrupts teaching and learning, including threats with knives, alcohol and drug use, and even violence and assaults corresponding to children’s birthdays. This behavior is alleged to include sexual harassment and violence. The parents feel they are not taken seriously by the school’s leadership, and they cite a lack of consequences for such behavior, making some children afraid to attend school. The letter was sent to the school, the Minister of Education, and the municipal Child and Youth Administration. Odense’s municipal Child and Youth Administration confirms receipt of the letter and considers the matter with utmost seriousness, with School Chief Nikolaj Juul Jørgensen acknowledging the need to review the issues raised.
