Syrian woman detained for ISIS support

A 27-year-old woman, evacuated from the al-Roj camp in Syria with her sick eight-year-old child, has been detained in Denmark for allegedly promoting ISIS and receiving weapon training from them. Detained after a court hearing in Aarhus, she was stripped of her Danish citizenship in 2020. Refusing to answer questions at the hearing, she will consult with her lawyer to respond to the charges. Her lawyer argued for her detention to be with her child to avoid separation due to the harsh camp conditions they lived in, but the request was denied. The prosecution is going through evidence, including messages and witness statements partly provided by other intelligence services. The lawyer reserves the right to appeal the detention that is set to last until November 22.
