Fur farmers anticipate new delays in compensation

Danish mink farmers express frustration over expected removal from commissions that set compensations for the fur industry. Tage Pedersen, mink farmer and chairman of the Kopenhagen Fur association, feels it could lead to delays in resolving cases due to finding new committee members, but does not foresee it impacting the compensation amounts. The shift follows reports on the influence farmers had in their own industry’s compensation cases. Pedersen denies that farmer representation has compromised decisions, noting just one in five commission members is a mink farmer. However, he acknowledged relief at the decision after experiencing intense public backlash in recent days.
