Minister admits arms plant delay

Defense Minister Troels Lund Poulsen acknowledged it took too long to assign ammunition production at Krudten in Elling, with a 1.5-year delay. Ultimately, Norwegian-Finnish Nammo was chosen to run the plant. The tender process, involving Danish company Danammo, was criticized for prolongation. Although the government favored Nammo in 2023, an open tender was demanded by a parliamentary majority influenced by the Liberal Alliance; however, their spokesperson Carsten Bach denied insisting on a tender. The Socialist People’s Party considered the tender unnecessary, already supporting Nammo. Bach ascribes the delay to government mismanagement without elaboration.
