Moderates welcome Jon Stephensen back to the group room

Jon Stephensen is welcome to participate in Moderaterne’s group meetings, according to group leader Henrik Frandsen. This arrangement is a continuation of a cooperation agreement with the government, although it does not mean Stephensen has rejoined the party. Stephensen was expelled from Moderaterne in August 2023 after sending inappropriate messages to a young woman in the party. Despite his involvement in discussions, Unge Moderater lacks confidence in him. Stephensen has a voting agreement with the government, supporting them in crucial votes due to their loss of mandates. Recently, he helped climate minister Lars Aagaard survive a no-confidence vote. Lars Løkke Rasmussen has previously stated that Stephensen has no future in Moderaterne or Danish politics.
