
Danish Nationalbank director resigns after 13 years
Per Callesen has decided to resign from his position as a director of the Danish National Bank after a tenure of 13 years. According to a press release, he will leave his role once a successor is appointed, or at the latest by the end of August. The 65-year-old expressed it was time for new energy to take over. From September 1, he will be involved in a project in collaboration with the Nationalbank and the University of Copenhagen, aimed at understanding the link between macroeconomics and economic policy. Callesen has a background as a department head in the Ministry of Finance and served as an Executive Director at the International Monetary Fund (IMF) in Washington. The current directorate of the Nationalbank includes Callesen, Christian Kettel Thomsen, and Signe Krogstrup.
