DSV breaches promise by using Russian railways
Danish logistics giant DSV admitted to using Russian railways to transport goods from China to Russia, despite previously committing to stop such actions. MobilityWatch and ShippingWatch report that this breach of promise happened in a few instances involving car shipments. DSV called the actions ‘deeply unacceptable’ and is looking into personnel consequences. The precise volume of goods or timing of these shipments was not disclosed. International sanctions do not cover this railway usage, however, it is considered a breach of the company’s own commitments and criticized for supporting Russia’s economy. DSV also acknowledged that its subcontractor transported clothing to Europe through Russia. The company is now tightening internal procedures to prevent recurrence but declined requests for interviews.
