Jysk-Owned sushi chain Letz Sushi closes

After over 20 years in the market, Letz Sushi, owned by Lars Larsen Group, is shutting down due to an inability to turn a profit. Despite numerous attempts, the sushi chain, with 21 restaurants across Copenhagen, Aarhus, and Roskilde and 223 employees, has not achieved profitability. Letz Sushi, known for using certified sustainable fish, recorded an 8th consecutive year of losses with a pre-tax deficit of 36.2 million DKK for 2023. The latest infusion of 40 million DKK from Lars Larsen Group only kept the equity afloat. The chain, founded by Louise Ertman Baunsgaard and acquired by Jysk in 2013, has now closed all locations and sent employees home with pay.
