Former Maersk CEO to lead Danish Crown’s turnaround

Søren Skou, former CEO of A.P. Møller-Mærsk, is set to guide Danish Crown out of its crisis alongside the new CEO Niels Duedahl. Skou has joined the board and is the proposed chairman for the meat processing company. He is committed to aiding Danish Crown’s competitive transformation for future growth. The company is facing a crisis with a 29% profit drop in the 2023/24 financial year due to farmers sending their pigs to competitors, resulting in a need to streamline operations and increase profitability. This situation led to 500 job cuts in administration. Skou, with 40 years at Maersk and board positions in other companies, could become Danish Crown’s first non-shareholder chairman if elected on December 19th.
