Consortium to develop secure Danish LLM
A consortium including private and public stakeholders aims to develop a Danish AI language model to compete with services like ChatGPT, prioritizing reliable data protection. Led by Dansk Erhverv and spearheaded by Casper Klynge, former tech ambassador and Microsoft executive, the project does not seek to compete directly with tech giants but rather to meet demand for custom models with trusted data protection. It envisions applications such as municipal use in construction cases. The Alexandra Institute, owned by Aarhus University Research Foundation, will develop the model with IBM’s assistance. The Danish model will be trained by consortium members including Falck, Norlys, Salling Group, Topdanmark, and Aarhus Municipality.
