Denmark holds Russia accountable for Navalny’s death

Denmark attributes the responsibility for the death of Alexei Navalny to Russian authorities, as stated by Foreign Minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen. Following discussions among EU countries, the Russian ambassador to Denmark was summoned for conversation to send a clear message to Putin regarding accountability. The conversation has occurred, though details were not revealed. Denmark expects an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the opposition leader’s death. Navalny died last week in a penal colony, as reported by international news agencies. Other countries including Finland, Norway, and Sweden have also summoned Russian ambassadors, with Sweden’s foreign minister urging the EU to consider additional sanctions. The exact cause of Navalny’s death is not yet determined, with a chemical analysis pending.
