Vestager: Trump threats prompt EU reflection
Margrethe Vestager, the former EU Commissioner, reflects on Donald Trump’s recent statements concerning Greenland, considering them to be of a different, more extreme category, particularly his hints at using economic or military force to take control of the island. Speaking at the Liberal Party’s New Year’s meeting, she suggested that European leaders who align with Trump’s methods may need to reconsider their approach. Vestager believes that such reevaluation might ultimately be beneficial for Europe. After a decade as a commissioner, Vestager now serves as the chairman of the Technical University of Denmark and has received a fellowship at Oxford University’s Blavatnik School of Government. She plans to utilize the university’s resources to explore how legislation becomes a reality and the role of technology in this process.
