Denmark increases Syria aid by 332 million

Denmark has intensified its humanitarian support for Syria with an additional 332 million kroner, as the crisis remains critical. The news was announced by the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Previously, Denmark committed 319 million kroner to help the Syrian civil population and refugees in neighboring countries, increasing the total aid to 651 million kroner. Development cooperation and global climate policy minister Dan Jørgensen emphasized the importance of not forgetting Syria during this time of new global conflicts. Special attention will be given to healthcare, education for children, and protection for vulnerable women against gender-based violence. Denmark will announce its pledge at the annual Syria conference in Brussels on May 27, with the hope of inspiring other countries to contribute as well. Danish aid is being carefully administered in collaboration with UN organizations to minimize the risk of funds reaching the wrong hands.
